3.

Confidentiality in our engagements

What leaders tell us in interviews during an engagement is confidential. We report patterns and themes to the client organization, not who said what, unless the person who shared it agrees. Individual assessment results are shared with the client as agreed in the engagement contract.

4.

Why we're allowed to use it

We use your information when you have given us consent (for example, subscribing to our newsletter), when we need it to provide services you or your organization requested, when we have a legitimate business interest in running and improving our business, or when the law requires it.

5.

How we share information

We share personal information only as needed with:

Service providers who help us run our business, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), which hosts our website; Drry, our email, newsletter, and community platform; Square, which processes payments; and Google Analytics, which helps us understand how visitors use our website. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
Client organizations, as described in section 3.
Podcast platforms, when we publish an episode a guest has agreed to.
Authorities or others, when required by law, or to protect our rights, our clients, or others.
A buyer or successor, if our business is ever sold or reorganized, with this policy continuing to apply.
6.

How we protect and keep your information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including access limits and reputable service providers with their own security measures. No website or online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. Client and engagement records are kept as needed for the engagement, our business records, and our legal obligations. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

7.

We offer the following rights to everyone, wherever you live in the United States. Residents of California and other states with consumer privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, may have these rights under their state's law.

Delete: ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal or business reasons
Portability: get your information in a usable format you can take elsewhere
Opt out: of the sale of your personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you
Limit sensitive information: we do not collect sensitive personal information, as described in section 1
Not be treated differently: we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service for using these rights

Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use Google Analytics only to measure how our website is used, not for advertising.

California residents. In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in section 1 (identifiers and contact details, professional information, quiz and assessment responses, and internet activity on our website). We collected them from you, from your organization when it hires us, and automatically from your device. We used them for the purposes in section 2 and disclosed them for business purposes to the service providers and others listed in section 5. We have not sold or shared personal information. California residents may also ask, once a year, whether we have disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. We do not.
